The Trumptanicburg Disaster is ongoing [1]

A long time ago, at the start of the Trumpian Era (errror), I defined Trump’s metaphorical ship of state as the Trumptanicburg because one single, straightforward disaster couldn’t come close to defining the shit-show & accompanying shit-storm that was about to be unleashed.

The Trumptanicburg disaster embodies the trifecta of disasters that define the political career and historical context of Donald J. Trump and the Republican party, particularly today's "conservatives" as they define themselves most vocally. (Essentially, racists fascists homophobes misogynists/ misogynoir & NAZIs openly behaving as such while emphatically in denial of what they are - at least, to whetever portion of the public they think needs to believe them. They openly admit it to others.)

We’re now at the “on fire & crashing with all hands on deck” portion of the show. It’s a slow-motion crash, with the “Captain” doing his best to salvage his own skin (and loot) while denying that he rammed the thing repeatedly into a mountainside, causing the internal rifts / explosions / fires that have spread throughout.

This marks not only a historic part of this entire historically ugly but important portion of our history as a nation and democracy but also signals the potential moment when the United States can finally start undoing the damages inflicted upon it by a metastacising “conservative” populace.

Let’s hope we get it right.
