Postcards to Voters and many other postcard and letter writing groups; Marc Elias and his Democracy Docket; the ACLU; the NAACP; numerous Democratic organizations; numerous activist organizations—in short, anyone and everyone you would expect.
So why doesn’t Georgia have Ranked Choice voting instead of these stupid runoffs? Well, we can get to that another time.
How do the Rs split now? What about those who only held their noses and voted for Walker to gain control of the Senate? Also the 2.1% Libertarian vote.

The House
Too many pundits, including on MSNBC, are quoting models that put the House at 213D-220 ±9 or 7R. CNN is using the real numbers: 200 D with 5 pickups so far, 211 R with 16 pickups so far, with 24 seats undecided. That’s bad, but way better than other midterm results, like Obama getting “shellacked”. So wait for it. Nobody knows how many pickups Ds will get in California. Just as in 2018 when the Blue Wave did not become apparent on Election day, but rose out of the ocean and up the shores after much more counting. Getting 18 more out of 24, 75% of those remaining, is a heavy lift, but don’t anybody count us out yet.
We are leading in 14 of those races. That includes 10 D vs. D races resulting from California jungle primaries. AK and ME have ranked choice voting, and Ds in the lead. If they don’t get to 50%, the last-place finisher gets tossed, and that person’s votes distributed among the others, late in November. That looks good.
So we need four more flips for a razor-thin 218-217 majority. That isn’t quite as daunting, is it? Some are predicting it, some pooh-poohing.
