For our next entry, we turn to Brad Slager, Townhall columnist and self-described “anti-18th Amendment activist.” He’s late for that one: the 18th was repealed in 1933.

I became aware of this person via the following tweet:

x Wowzers! Two Boomities in one day! @MartiniShark delivers a beautiful and scathing post-mortem on the Dems for us to savor as we scan the election results tomorrow. Here’s to a Red Tsunami! 🍸 https://t.co/3sdNiu2TrL — Judianna (@Judianna) November 8, 2022

A post-mortem for something that a. hadn’t happened yet and b. didn’t happen. There has to be an explanation: Did Brad Slager become came unstuck in time a la Billy Pilgrim? Is that why he is still protesting the 18th Amendment?

Anyway, like most of these freaks, he refers to the “Democrat party” and thinks talking about January 6 and fascism were bad for the Dems. Slager’s piece is steeped in right-wing nutjob gibberish, with a bit of gaslighting thrown in.

One of the most risible arguments this election season has been that Republicans are the party of fear. What elevates this to the level of hilarity is almost in the same breath, we hear how this election could be the death of our democracy. Also, we are promised that women will be cast into a social purgatory on par with “The Handmaid’s Tale,” every social program is at risk of being dismantled, and minorities will have almost every right stripped away because The Party of Fear wants these results. Hell of a platform to run on.

Of course, Slager never indicates that the argument is wrong. This is what is called a tell.

The highlight is the Editor’s Note at the end. Just scroll down for it.
