Can McCarthy lead the House Republicans? Can anyone? [1]

Just a brief observation for all those depressed by the direction that the US House of Representatives election results appear to be taking.

I just want to point out that the previous 2 Republican Speakers have quit in frustration and disgust. Why? Because leading these assholes, clowns, and miscreants is not simple. Maybe not even possible. Can they do some damage? Yes, of course. Can they redefine conservative governance in America? Give me a break.

We will not see any conservative legislation passed in the next 2 years. We will not see any conservative policy positions that make any sense. We will see some “investigations” of Democratic politicians and their families. Those will waste everyone’s time, uncover zero criminal behavior, and go nowhere. We will see votes to impeach Biden and maybe some others for doing their jobs. Those will struggle to pass (try getting 218 Republicans to agree on anything), but in any case, they will be clear indicators of the uselessness of Republican legislators and will almost certainly gain Dems some seats in 2024.

Let’s all take a deep breath, be proud of what we accomplished in 2022, and focus on the next election.
