C'mon, folks. Take the victory lap! [1]

There are people on this site seriously bummed we might lose the House, and even the Senate looks iffy. And they are upset and complaining and saying “Republicans won, woe is us!”

No. It doesn’t work like that. The entire media set us up with this ridiculous notion of a Red Wave. I personally think it was always a longshot, but since the media set the bar so fucking low for us, and we easily cleared it, I’m taking a victory lap instead. You should too. What we got were bragging rights that we held our own. That’s HUGE.

And while we didn't win everything we wanted, we also DID win a LOT of what we wanted. You want to know how to correctly interpret these results? Republicans are FURIOUS! Trump is too, and the bastards are blaming each other for their poor showings in races they were SURE they were going to win.

And Joe Biden was grinning like a “Gee whiz!” schoolboy at his presser which also speaks volumes.

While the Republicans told the public they were going to crush us, and we held our own, that gives US the victory! For Democratic messaging? That’s huge!

As for people looking ahead to 2024, voters like winners, by the way. Acting like it is actually in our best interest.

I said it elsewhere, that nobody will remember yesterday as the day the Dems lost the House and / or the Senate by the slimmest of margins. They’ll remember it as the day Fox News described as “A disaster for Republicans” and said “The night’s biggest loser was Donald Trump”.

You want to know how I know we won? Republicans are FUMING. They are humiliated and acting like it. And instead of worrying about the races we lost, I think our time might be better spent rubbing their noses in it and making them feel like the worthless pieces of shit they are.

Seriously, guys. The media handed us a no-fault winner of an election simply for not getting creamed. I’m accepting that gift, no matter how stupid and unearned it was deep down, and fucking making Republicans feel like shit for it. You should too. Fuck them AND the media. Their tears are so salty and yummy.
