No, I didn’t do any animal sacrifice. But I feel like one of those useless augurers looking for any bit of data on this Election Day. And I have invoked the power of the Google to bring you news from Cuyahoga County in Ohio.
Cuyahoga elections chief estimates 55% voter turnout at the ballot box today CLEVELAND, Ohio – Cuyahoga County’s top election official estimated voter turnout Tuesday at 55% at the midday point, as voters streamed to polling places amid sunny skies and temperatures in the mid-50s. Anthony Perlatti, the director of the county’s elections board, told reporters that there were no major issues inside or outside of voting places. If the turnout figures are reasonably correct, it could mean more than 480,000 voters could cast ballots, according to estimates and totals of voters. That’s about the same number of people in the county who voted in the November 2018 election. That was also about 55 percent of the county’s registered voters.
There was worry that Cuyahoga County Democrats were no showing up to vote, at least with the early vote. But if this estimate holds up, it’s a good sign I think for Tim Ryan. However, I am not a Buckeye, so I would be interested in any Ohio Kossack views on voter turnout.
