So, my sister has been canvassing for Abrams and Warnock for several weeks up in Georgia, or down in Georgia depending on where you live, but I’m in Florida, so it’s up in Georgia.
Anyway, she went to a screen door today and the other door was open because the weather was nice. She saw a guy inside and announced herself saying something like (and all of the rest of this conversation I’m conveying will be with the caveat of something like), “Hi, how are you?”
He said, “I’m watching football.”
She said, “I’m here with the Abrams and Warnock campaigns, and am wondering if you’ve voted.”
He said, “I might.”
She said, “Who’s winning?”
He told her which team was winning.
She asked if that was the team he wanted to be winning.
He said no.
She said, “Well, would you vote for Abrams and Warnock if you do vote?”
He said, “I’m watching football.”
She said, “Okay, I hope your team wins, and I hope you vote.”
And she left.
I just want to say thank you to all the canvassers like my sister out there. The work you’re doing is so, so, so get-out-of-your-comfort-zone and so, so, so valuable!!!
