Another day, another episode of election sabotage in Virginia, this time in my own county of Loudoun. More science fiction about the voting machines, this time with mysterious, evidence-free accusations that the Chicoms are suddenly interested in Virginia elections. Dude shows up at a hearing with a binder full of evidence, and he’s DONe HiS OwN ReSEaRcH! Do you think they want to overturn the election of Republican Glenn Youngkin? The practical effect is to simply impede normal, orderly election administration.
Vote hard, people.
I’ve tried to make the case for why Loudoun is strategic to Virginia, and Virginia is strategic for the Democrats, nationally. Suburban Loudoun provides the crucial margin that offsets Republican dominance in Virginia’s many small, rural, white counties. As a purple state, Virginia is a place the national Democrats can ill afford to surrender. So even if you aren’t interested in Virginia, as the saying goes, Virginia is interested in you.
I mentioned in a previous post that some Youngkin voters by now have to wonder what all the fuss over Critical Race Theory was about. A year after the election, nothing seems to have happened. In fact, the new governor set up a “tip line” for complaints about CRT being foisted on the children in public school. Only trouble was, a disproportionate share of the emails came from a small minority of people, and the vast majority of messages had nothing to do with CRT. Half in fact came from some lady, a Youngkin voter, complaining about Special Ed. The tip-line has now been shut down, according to the governor, for having "received little to no volume.".
I’ve announced a run for the House of Delegates ($$$$), the lower house of our state legislature. Why does the HoD matter? Besides making state policy, state legislatures draw the district boundaries for Congressional campaigns, and the centrality of the U.S. Congress in the country’s future should be obvious.
