One of Tulsi Gabbard's 'great Americans' vows to arrest FBI agents if elected governor of Arizona [1]

While on the stump, Lake poured gasoline on a far-right conspiracy theory that has been percolating around the tubes for over a year—that FBI agents were being dispatched to arrest parents and have them charged as domestic terrorists for voicing concerns about what their kids were being taught in schoo. Lake said that if Joe Biden had any ideas about “send(ing) his FBI nd DOJ in to start coming after our parents,” he would be in for a surprise if she were governor. She vowed to have Arizona state troopers waiting at the airport for these agents, ready to arrest FBI and DOJ agents “for going after our rights."
For one thing, Lake was repeating a claim that has been thoroughly debunked. A number of right-wing talking heads have claimed that when Attorney General Merrick Garland issued a memo warning against a spate of threats against school board members, it smeared parents who vigorously objected to such policies “domestic terrorists.” But there is no such statement in that memo. Indeed, the word “parents” doesn’t even appear in the text.
More alarming, though, is that a candidate for governor is openly threatening to arrest federal agents who supposedly trample on people’s rights. There is a process for calling out such violations—but apparently it means nothing to Lake. She is effectively telling the people of Arizona that she would use the power of her office to launch an insurrection.
Lake’s statement makes a post Gabbard made to her social media feeds particularly ill-timed, to put it mildly.

This clip came from an October appearance on Mike Huckabee’s Saturday night talk show on TBN. One has to wonder—does Gabbard consider Lake a “great American”? It’s been more than 24 hours since Lake’s threat surfaced—an eternity in Internet terms. And yet, Gabbard hasn’t said a word. It’s more than fair to wonder if Gabbard condones Lake’s blatantly insurrectionist sentiment.
There was already enough to prove beyond all doubt that Gabbard is morally bankrupt long before she began merrily endorsing MAGA Republicans. Remember, this woman claimed WikiLeaks “spurred necessary change”—and in so doing, effectively gave the finger to the numerous people who were exposed to identity theft by Julian Assange and his minions. But if Gabbard considers Lake a great American, it’s even more proof that she has basically been trolling us throughout her career in federal politics. And it’s even more proof that she is utterly unfit for office.
