"I Want You to Save Democracy”

Please Read This I was on travel for most of the past week and this is a quickie version of my weekly diary. The diary includes over 45 editorial cartoons and interesting Tweets on the upcoming elections; recent events that highlight voter suppression, political violence, and election denialism; MAGA madness and bizarre behavior; candidate debates, and the acquisition of Twitter by Elon Musk that prompted all kinds of speculation as to how the popular platform might change in coming weeks and months. As I usually do, I’ll try to post another 15-20 cartoons in the comments section. Thanks for supporting this diary.

Vote for Democratic Candidates

Do your civic duty. Early Voting in the November 2022 Elections Early voting for registered voters has started in many states. Here is more information on registration deadlines and the calendar for early voting. 2022 Registration Deadlines by State.

Early Voting Calendar by State. If you can, help a friend, neighbor, co-worker, or acquaintance along the way. See this Michael Moore video — I Have Never Felt This Optimistic. In it, Moore say that the best way to ensure victory is “everyone needs to show up and you need to bring 5-10 people with you on election day. That is critical!” It’s time to play offense and work toward a return to sanity and normalcy in the coming months. x “I Want You to Save Democracy”

Trick or Treat?

Political Violence

At least one Republican has the decency to acknowledge what his party has degenerated into — a group full of bizarre conspiracy theorists, promoting violence to acquire political power, and refusing to accept responsibility for any misdeeds.

There is a name for such behavior: Fascism.
