Crazy ideas on the Pelosi assassination attempt are out there, and Elon Musk is ON IT [1]

It was only a matter of time — of a very, very short span of time. As soon as I heard about the attempt on Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s life, the one that sent her 82-year-old husband to the hospital, I knew that within hours, if not minutes, the crazy conspiracy theories would come out.

As soon as we heard that the “lone wolf” attacker had shouted, “Where’s Nancy?”, echoing the chants of the January 6th insurrectionists, I knew that MAGA-heads would pivot instantly to blaming the Democrats.

What I frankly did not see coming was this. Yesterday afternoon, Hillary Clinton tweeted out a sensible statement on GOP responsibility for this assassination attempt:

The Republican Party and its mouthpieces now regularly spread hate and deranged conspiracy theories. It is shocking, but not surprising, that violence is the result. As citizens, we must hold them accountable for their words and the actions that follow.

Then Elon Musk, the new owner of Twitter, responds with… absolute dreck. Beyond disgusting. If there were any standards, this alone would get him barred from Twitter for life. I’m not even going to link to it, just post the screen shot, but it’s a real tweet, still up there, and you’re welcome to look it up if you wish.

Me, I’m going to stick with Twitter for the time being, so long as the dozen good folks I follow stay there. For example, I learned about this story through… Twitter.
