Not just Herschel. Also, the president who appointed Sam Alito and Chief Justice John Roberts to serve on the Supreme Court. According to 2 biographies, a romance with George W Bush turned into a pregnancy, and then he arranged an abortion at a Houston hospital (through friends as intermediaries). The Mom of the president who appointed Justice Roberts and Justice Alito (who overturned abortion rights), scripted in her journal —

Perhaps the unintended pregnancy resulted from inattention to contraception by the would-be president. Prior to the biographies, George W. told reporter Joe Drape (Cox News Media) that his father (another president) neglected telling him to use protection.

As for the next Republican president, who would appoint 3 additional justices, Donald Trump declined to answer the question posed if he was ever personally involved in an abortion, when asked directly by Maureen Dowd of the NY Times, in April 2016. When asked, he tacked, “So what’s your next question.”

Two more votes on the Court to undo reproductive rights. Then Trump added the 3 additional solid votes, with Gorsuch, Kavanaugh and Barrett, for upending Roe. Barbara Bush comprehended, she knew that abortion would always be obtained by people of means who can access additional resources. She understood:

“Why should the rich be allowed to afford abortions and the poor not?”

I wish at this moment in time, people would ask Laura Bush or George W. himself about this time in his distant past.

For if the men who appoint Supreme Court justices, and men who would vote for them in the Senate, are able to arrange abortions, while denying them to other women, then the corruption of the system is beyond bounds.
