“The Republicans have a habit of having three bad years and one good one, and the good one always happens to be election years.” ~ Will Rogers

The 2022 mid-term elections are a big deal because the candidates we elect to Congress will effectively control our lives and the lives of our children and grandchildren for the next two to six years.

They may even establish legislative precedents we’ll have to live with for the foreseeable future.

Representatives and senators are our employees. Yet, we pay them salaries and provide benefits most of us will never enjoy, and allow them to decide how much money we make, how much it costs us to live, where we live, how we live, and how long we live.

Talk about power!

Why do we willingly hand over so much power to virtual strangers, many of whom are millionaires who wouldn’t know us from a hole in the wall and can’t identify with our dreams, hopes, and goals?

And what should we expect in return?

We expect them to be qualified to protect and serve us, not donors, lobbyists, or special interest groups. Moreover, we do not expect our congressional employees to waste taxpayer money seeking the pleasures of power, privilege, and wealth.

Okay ----- now, how can we make sure we elect candidates who are qualified to protect and serve?

Smart voters do what any smart employer does ----- let candidates know that we’ll vote only for those qualified to serve in Congress.

How qualified?

Read on.
