Time is of the essence. PLEASE consider writing to inconsistent Democratic voters in critical states!
Hi everyone —
The polls appear way too close for comfort, and it seems it’s going to all come down to TURNOUT!
So, this means ALL HANDS ON DECK!!!
If you are willing to write letters from the comfort of your own home, there is an organization called Vote Forward that I have been writing for in the last 3 election cycles.
They are nothing short of amazing. They make the process seamless, so easy and they do as much of the work for you as they can. Their dashboard is super organized and you can adopt voters in quantities of 5 or 20 at a time. My aim this election is 200 letters! So far, I am done with 140 (phew) so I am certain I will hit my goal as we have 3 more days then the big mail date is Saturday!
They are extremely organized, make it super simple and break down the areas by state and even House district (they also have some other breakdowns).
Their aim is to convince inconsistent and underrepresented D leaning (or straight up D) voters to vote. They have been at this for a long time now and are super nerdy and do a ton of looking at analytics (which they share with you if you are interested) and keep honing their skill at what to say, when to mail, etc. They really have their shit together!
My approach has been looking through their campaigns and choosing states where we are trying to save or flip a Senate seat (or protect or flip an SOS or GOV seat) and choosing those. Also, I am looking for the campaigns that have too many letters left to adopt (such as 200K still left to adopt vs some that only have 1K left). In other words, areas that desperately need more letters written!
So far, I have written letters to PA, MI, NC, AZ and FL.
If you do decide to join in the letter writing, here are a few critical things to know:
1. The letters MUST be completed and ready to mail out this Saturday October 29! Not much time left.
2. If you need help with supplies (such as envelopes or stamps) they can help!
3. Any voters you adopt — are yours! They will not be assigned to anyone else — meaning this is a commitment!
4. You are not writing an entire letter. You are essentially filling in a blank area on a form letter where you describe why you vote, to try to convince someone else to do the same. You're not saying "vote for this Democrat," or even mentioning one party or the other - just a positive message encouraging someone to vote. The recipients of these letters are very targeted. Young, POC, underrepresented people who typically do (or likely would) vote D.
5. Lastly and I think this is critically important — they have their campaigns broken down differently this time in a way that I did not understand. They have “SOCIAL” and “POLITICAL” campaigns. So, I emailed them asking what the difference was. Here is the reply I got:
Thanks for being in touch and getting going on your letters! Your primary goal, encouraging people to vote, is exactly right, whatever campaign you choose. Here are the differences: We use the Priority Campaign designation to call attention to a campaign when we need to direct as many volunteers to it as possible. For our Social Campaigns, that align with our mission of helping to encourage and register voters from underrepresented demographics, we cannot target lists based on party affiliations or leanings, and to retain our status with the IRS, we're prevented from even considering this information. So, we know we're writing to voters that our list vendor has identified as underrepresented in our electorate, including people of color and young people who are unlikely or relatively unlikely to vote, but we cannot know their political leanings. These campaigns are listed under the Social Campaigns header and have a note that says they serve our core social mission. Groups and individuals looking for nonpartisan get-out-the-vote efforts are major participants in these campaigns because they are 501(c)(3) compliant. In our Political Campaigns, we're also writing to voters who are unlikely or relatively unlikely to vote, but we are permitted to know their political leanings, so we target voters with partisanship scores indicating their likelihood to vote for Democrats. These campaigns are listed under the Political Campaigns header. Thanks for all your efforts!
I decided I did not want to risk writing a Republican and encourage them to vote (LOL) so I am sticking with the political campaigns.
They have many campaigns in dozens of states — you can target whatever state/area you feel strongly about.

I hope you will be willing to join, even if you just send 5 letters or 20 letters. Can you imagine if every one of us reading this sent 20 letters? That could be huge!
Every single effort can and will help push us over the edge!
WE MUST WIN! Democracy is on the line.
Thanks for listening.
