SOCIAL SECURITY IS IN PERIL [1]

This is a very brief diary, but I hope people will take it to heart. The Rethuglican party is bent on destroying Social Security — the life-line of our senior community.
The rationale is not clear to me, other than that the ‘thugs have disliked the program ever since it was implemented during the New Deal, under FDR. “Democrats did it and works,” seems to explain their rancor.
All retirees— save for plutocrats— rely on this program— even individuals with other pension income, e.g. from former employers. Many of those without other income sources would be destitute without Social Security.
I think there are many Rethuglican voters --who have perhaps not thought through their dependence upon this program— who would be shocked at the prospect of losing this leg of their retirement income. I would love to reach them on this issue, but I doubt it to be possible.
There are many reasons to want to whip the Rethugs in the in coming midterms, but this stands HEAD & SHOULDERS ABOVE ALL OTHERS.
WHY ISN’T THE NATIONAL DEMOCRATIC PARTY FLOODING THE AIRWAVES WITH THIS ISSUE?
Defeat the the Rethugs and Save Social Security!
