Circular Firing Squad? [1]

I live in rural southern Ohio, Heart and Soul of Trump country. Today I spotted a full size billboard on the state route. It said simply “Same day voting only – hand count only. No mail in ballots”. It was quite a forceful message, large black lettering on a stark white background. It seemed to be warning voters not to trust mail in voting. This was a commercial billboard, the kind you see for insurance agencies or real estate firms, so it couldn’t have been cheap to rent, but nothing indicated who paid for it.
This is a region with an aging population. What if the elderly and disabled can’t get to the polling place? Why are Republicans telling them not to trust the one option they might have? High poverty rate as well, don’t count on voters having transportation or time off work to go vote on that specific day.
The Senate race here is dead even between Tim Ryan and JD Vance. I would think the Republicans would be doing the opposite of this, wringing out every last vote they can get. I would say this was some sort of Democrat “false flag” operation, but I don’t think we’re that conniving.
