An Update on John in Ghana, and an Appreciation [1]

A few days ago I wrote a diary asking for help for my friend John in Ghana, who is deathly ill. This was very hard for me to do. I was raised never to let anyone outside of family know when you had a problem, and to never, ever ask for help. But I felt in this case the situation was so desperate that I had to do something. It was either that or let John bleed to death. And I just couldn’t not at least try.

So I asked for help and everyone here was very generous and kind. Within hours you all pitched in and the money we needed was raised. Now John will live and continue to be a blessing to others.

I was informed last night that the money had been released from GFM and now we are just waiting for the banks to do their thing to get it into my account. As soon as it is delivered I will send it on to John.

I know it is an overused phrase to say that one cannot find the words to express one’s gratitude, but I am truly at a loss. I know I am not the most charming person here and I do tend to get into squabbles sometimes in the comments but you have all overlooked my personal faults and have helped. I am deeply, deeply grateful.

I will just add that cancer is my personal enemy. I just hate it. It has killed all of my family and my closest personal friend. The kind of cancer John has killed my sister. I just hate it and I am terrified for John, but at least now he has a fighting chance.

Also, there will be enough left over for John to help Anabel, the abandoned little girl, and maybe her mother too. So much good to be grateful for.

I will keep you posted with updates, hopefully with good news about John very soon.
