I know. It’s still very early, but it appears that the early voting turnout in Ohio is slighlty exceeding 2018 Midterm voting levels. And the 2018 Midterms were good for Democrats, generally speaking. It certainly helped Democratic Senator Sherrod Brown easily beat his Republican challenger in 2018. It is an initial indication that we may not have a low voter turnout as all the pundits keep insisting is the historical norm for midterms. During midterms, the party in power usually suffers a drop in their base voter turnout, while the opposition is more pumped to go to the polls to punish those in power.
Anyway, it is more data — preliminary though it may be — that 2022 may not be a typical midterm election.
