Happy Friday! Bit is off today, but we’re going to go get groceries tomorrow. She gets off at 11 tomorrow.

As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wild fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off DKos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on DKos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care!

IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news!

I’ve been using crochet as Occupational Therapy for my hands. Both to help with my arthritis and to help with the tremors. And it’s been working! I’ve been in less pain and I’ve had almost no tremors in my hands for over a week. I use large handled hooks, and I bought a new set of them in different sizes, but mostly I’ve been using the one my mom bought me years ago. It also has a light in it.

Bit’s Scarf

I made this scarf for Bit. It’s a bit wonky, I don’t know how I lost some stitches over the process, but she loves it and has been wearing it the past few days while it’s been so cold. Some of her co-workers have requested some as well, so I think I’ll be making more of them over the winter.

I did mostly single crochet, but there’s some fan stitch in the black (though you can’t see it well in the picture). Bit likes purple, and her winter coat is purple with black accents.

I’ve also been doing some halloween crochet patterns. We are thinking of adding them to the candy offerings for trick or treaters (we like to do a special thing, and have done crafts for it in other years and its gone over really well).

We’re planning on skulls, bats, ghosts and pumpkins. So far I’ve tried the skulls. Bit has done some skulls and a bat. I’m going to expand into bats later today.

Some of the skulls I’ve made, and the hook I’m using (the hook lights up too!)

Here’s where I learned how to make the skulls
