Eric Swalwell, D CA-15 has released this as a campaign ad. The Youtube video has this statement from him::
As a former prosecutor, I’ve given a lot of thought about what it will look like for women as the MAGA abortion bans are enforced. #LockHerUp illustrates what's at stake this November for the women we love.
The laws Republicans have already slammed into place in the states where they have the power to do it are already generating horror stories. Women of child-bearing age are being denied life-saving health care because it might be harmful to a possible pregnancy. Women with life-threatening conditions are being denied emergency abortions even when there is no possibility of the child surviving — which is also the case if the mother dies. Women are being forced to carry to term fetuses that will never survive delivery. Doctors are afraid to practice proper medicine for fear of going to prison, or are moving to other states.
The situation depicted in the commercial, that a woman could be arrested, forced to undergo examination, and medical records could be seized as evidence of a crime — unlawful termination of a pregnancy — is exactly where the country is headed if Republicans gain the power to make it so.
I would be surprised if this ad hasn’t gone viral already. It certainly should — before it’s too late.
