.but it should be.

Before the sperm of a man combines with the egg within a woman, most men already have toxic chemicals from agriculture uses (pesticides) and PFAS (forever chemicals) in his body. and as reported by Euronews.com

“Recent research suggests sperm counts have been more than halved in the space of 40 years. A man’s reproductive capacity is largely defined in the first trimester of pregnancy when the testicles are developed”

Of course, we can discount the same toxic pollution in the body of the woman as when she is developing her egg. Then, as the baby develops, well, as far back as July 14, 2005, the Environmental Working Group, were talking about “The Pollution in Newborns”.

“ In the month leading up to a baby's birth, the umbilical cord pulses with the equivalent of at least 300 quarts of blood each day, ... This cord is a lifeline between mother and baby, bearing nutrients that sustain life and propel growth…a steady stream of industrial chemicals, pollutants and pesticides that cross the placenta... the pollution in people that permeates everyone in the world, including babies in the womb.”

What they found:

“...in umbilical cord blood from 10 babies born in August and September of 2004 in U.S. hospitals... a total of 287 chemicals...we know that 180 cause cancer in humans or animals, 217 are toxic to the brain and nervous system, and 208 cause birth defects or abnormal development in animal tests...including the Teflon chemical PFOA, recently characterized as a likely human carcinogen by the EPA's Science Advisory Board — dozens of widely used brominated flame retardants and their toxic by-products; and numerous pesticides”.

We don’t want mercury, PCBs and dioxins introduced into our body as adults, but these chemicals are already introduced into the developing body of an infant. Because the weight of a baby is less than that of an adult, there is greater harm that can be induced into their porous blood-brain barrier as well as the rest of the body. We can’t ignore the fact that we as adults have had a shorter lifetime exposure because many of these chemicals did not exist when we were young. As a retiree, my exposure has probably been less than 40 years, yet a child will have had an exposure at the age of 40 that is probably greater than mine because of the additional chemicals that now exist. What will their exposure be by the time they reach 70 years of age?

The same article went on to say:

”U.S. industries manufacture and import approximately 75,000 chemicals, 3,000 of them at over a million pounds per year. Health officials do not know how many of these chemicals pollute fetal blood and what the health consequences of in utero exposures may be…At no other time in life does a person create so much from so little in so short a time. Industrial chemicals that interrupt this intricate process can, at high levels, wreak havoc in the form of severe birth defects, or at lower levels cause subtle but important changes in development that surface later in childhood as learning or behavioral problems, or in adulthood in the form of certain cancers or perhaps neurodegenerative disease.”

So, you have a baby born and without a doubt, it will have toxic chemicals within its body. If I were to feed my child poison or physical abuse the child to cause physical harm or even berate the child in such a way as to cause emotional harm, I would be subject to a multitude of laws. Society would brand me as an abhorrent parent and either incarcerate me or remove the child from my custody. I know that there are guidelines for prospective parents, especially with the woman carrying the fetus. We can address the toxic chemicals in our bodies.

With every article I write, I try to have solutions:

A year-long study on firefighters in Australia found that if they gave blood or donated platelets, the amount of forever chemicals in their body was greatly reduced .

A study was made where school children were fed organic food for five days and they had a drastic reduction of toxic chemicals in their urine. Another study using parents and children for a 6 days study produced the same result.

Another study using parents and children for a 6 days study produced the same result. And Zero Water (Zero Technologies) which is very economical,($32.00+) is one of the best filters for your water. It is cheap, t filter lasts for a year and doesn’t require additional plumbing -Premium 5 Stage Filtration: Removes 99 percent of total dissolved solids (TDS) for the purest tasting water; TDS are organic and inorganic materials such as pesticides, metals including lead and mercury, minerals, salts, and ions.-NSF certified and BPA free: The Only Pour Through Filter NSF Certified to Reduce Lead, Chromium and PFOA/PFOS; All material is BPA free

Giving blood may be the difference of life and death for others. For those who have access to an Aldi Grocery store (they are in many underserved lower-income areas), I get their frozen vegetables starting at 1.29 per package. I get large packages of frozen blueberries for smoothies. I get organic potatoes and bananas fresh, and they also have other fresh vegetables. I get organic olive oil and organic mac and cheese. They have organic milk, butter and pastured raised eggs. They also have pasture raised chickens (pastured raised eggs, milk and meat are super organic foods.). Aldi’s prices are the lowest around and their organic food is reasonable. If we were to calculate the actual price per pound of prepared foods, organic will come out cheaper.

If you just shop there, you will be surprised at the cost. I pick up my organic bread at a health food store. I have a farmer who raised all his food on pasture, and I am able to pick up beef and pork there. I have found that going full organic, my intake of meat has dropped off without any desire or effort on my part. I get Brunswick Boneless Kipper Style Herring Fillets from Amazon and make a tuna (Herring) salad with eggs for sandwiches. Sometimes I mix the Herring with eggs and organic potatoes for breakfast.

I only eat fish wild caught from the North Pacific and stay away from Tuna and Salmon as they harbor extra mercury. Aldi has fish at a price that is normally would be a sale price elsewhere. I don’t eat Tilapia or Catfish as most are farm raised with additional mercury.

I know that organic food may cost more, but I have found that my appetite has drastically reduced, and I lost about a ½ pound a month in the 18 months I have been on this diet. In addition, my doctor had to eliminate one blood pressure pill because my blood pressure was becoming to low and causing problems. My cholesterol and triglycerides have all returned to normal without any medication. Think of the effect this would have not only on the body of the woman but the developing fetus.
