Since 1980, our Democracy, under the guise of the republican party’s false narrative of “Conservative Values,” has become captive to the privileged few granting themselves an unconstrained license to plunder the Nation’s Treasury and their fellow citizens in their insatiable pursuit of more incredible wealth.
The Evidence is well documented:
From 1989 to 2019, the wealth held by the top 1% increased 231 times more than the wealth owned by an individual at the median level of the wealth scale.
In 1978, executive income was 30 times that of the average worker; by 2021, that ratio had become 670 times greater.
In 1980, the National debt was $900 Billion; today, as a direct result of multiple republican sponsored tax cuts and tax avoidance loopholes favoring the privileged few, the debt is over $30 Trillion.
Before 1980, when bad times came, everyone was affected; now indiscriminate price gouging by large corporations fuels inflation and record profits while leaving small businesses and middle and low-income families to struggle.
YET, for some inexplicable reason, the constant barrage of blatant republican political lies has successfully convinced half the population that the “Greatest Con in American History” is the fault of the Democrats and that the republicans are on the side of the common people.
