Why are people so aghast at Putin using unqualified recruits. Ever heard of McNamara’s Folly, also McNamara’s Morons. The dear Secretary needed 100,000 men quickly to throw into Vietnam and so found me with IQ’s 10 points less than the average recruits. Bingo. Some of these men could not speak English, some were under or overweight, and most did not have the intellectual qualifications to be turned into a trained soldier. And many died. Many later committed suicide and very few attained the same quality of life and status compared to their non-veteran equals. Whatever bad is being done now has been done before and even worse.
