THREE STRIKES, THEY’RE OUT—LET’S HOPE!

Here are three folks up for election or re-election; in my opinion, not one should be allowed anywhere near public office…

Tim Scott (R-SC) says: “If we don’t take back the Senate, the Dems will grant abortions up to 52 weeks.” (1)

What staggering lies! First, to name an obvious impossibility, how can there be a 52 week pregnancy, let alone an abortion at that amount of time? The rest of the world needs 40 weeks, roughly nine months, for a pregnancy. He thinks pregnancies lasts three months longer than they actually do? Where does he get his “science”?

Secondly, no Democrat “grants” abortions; that decision is up to the woman, with whatever guidance she may choose from her physician, family, or faith counselor.

Mr. Scott understands neither Democratic policy nor scientific reality. Should such a confused individual make reproductive policy for our country?

Brian Kemp (R-GA): Governor Kemp has changed the rules of voting in his state, making it more difficult for African-American Georgians to vote.

“It’s now a crime in Georgia to give a bottle of water or a snack to people waiting in line to vote. We know that in Georgia and across the country, hours-long lines to vote are more common in Black and Brown communities.

In addition, mobile voting (polling sites on wheels, very convenient for working people) has now been declared against the law in Georgia. (Mobile voting, by the way, has only been used in Fulton County (2), which has the state’s largest Black population).”

Adam Laxalt (R-NV): Before Adam Laxalt won the GOP primary, he made himself beloved by the oil industry, anti-choice advocates and gun manufacturers.

“Laxalt served one term as the attorney general of Nevada from 2015 to 2019. In that role, he filed legal briefs in support of laws restricting abortion, challenged federal environmental protection regulations, opposed some gun regulations, and opposed a multi-state investigation into ExxonMobil's role in climate change.” (3)
