The City of Chesapeake in the beautiful Commonwealth of Virginia. The second largest city in Virginia with a population of 250,000. The city has been in the control of the Republican Party for over 20 years in part because the City Council and School Board elections were held in May, with just over 20% voter turnout. President Barack Obama in ‘08, ‘12 and Joe Biden in ‘20 all won the city of Chesapeake in November elections. For the first time in our city's history City Council and School Board elections will be held in November. We have a real opportunity to have fair representation on City Council and School Board. Currently we only have 2 Democrats on City Council and 1 Democrat on School Board.

The Chesapeake Democratic Committee is partnering with Congresswoman Elaine Luria (VA2). Congresswoman Luria’s race is going to be very close with possibly a 2,000-3,000 vote difference between her and the Republican Candidate. If we can secure the funding, we will be adding both Congresswoman Luria (VA2) and Congressman Bobby Scott (VA3) who also has a Republican opponent this year to our GOTV Adverising push.

We are in need of funds to buy GOTV literature to put on Strong Democratic doors and run Ad’s in our local newspapers and Facebook.
