WHAT, IF ANYTHING, SHOULD THE LEGISLATURE DO TO SHAPE CURRICULUM DEALING WITH TOPICS OF RACE, SEXUALITY AND GENDER?

School curriculum has been politicized causing confusion and division. Teachers should be allowed to teach their subjects as along as they are teaching the truth, not confusion and division. My experience in education did not spend a lot of time on race, sexuality and gender.

Billy Martin, the Democratic nominee for N.C. Senate District 46, kicked off his campaign Thursday evening.

Martin, who is also a member of the Marion City Council, spoke to a crowd of more than 50 people at Spillway Bridge & Co. on Thursday. In his speech, he talked about the Republicans who are in charge of the state General Assembly, according to a news release.
