Herschel Walker (R. GA)
What a fucking clown:
x Sen. Raphael Warnock (D): “One thing I have not done — I have never pretended to be a police officer, and I’ve never threatened a shootout with the police.”
In response, Herschel Walker (R) pulled out a prop badge: “I am work with many police officers.” pic.twitter.com/Wyh6oYD9zB — Heartland Signal (@HeartlandSignal) October 14, 2022 Herschel Walker, the GOP nominee for a U.S. Senate seat in Georgia, was reprimanded by a moderator for flashing a “prop” police badge in his debate Friday against Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock. During a response to a question about crime, Warnock criticized Walker for falsely claiming in the past that he had once worked in law enforcement. “One thing I’ve not done is I’ve never pretended to be a police officer, and I’ve never threatened a shootout with the police,” Warnock said, referring to how the former football star once talked about a police shootout, according to a 21-year-old police report. Walker then pulled out what appeared to be a fake police badge and held it up on stage, drawing a scolding from one of the moderators. “You’re very well aware of the rules, aren’t you?” the moderator said.
For the record, Walker has never worked in law enforcement:
Walker has said he worked in law enforcement, but in response to news stories refuting his statements, his campaign has said that he supports law enforcement. In a 2019 speech at the Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state, Walker related an incident in which he got angry at a man over a car. He said: "I grabbed a gun. I worked for the (unintelligible) law enforcement. Y'all didn't know that either, did you? I spent time at Quantico at the FBI training schools. Y'all didn't know I was an agent? I probably shouldn't tell y'all that. Y’all don’t care about that. Yeah, I’ve been in law enforcement." Walker told the same story in a 2017 speech at the U.S. Army’s Fort Benning in Georgia, saying he was able to carry a gun because "I was working with law enforcement" and had "my FBI clearance." The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in June reported on Walker’s 2019 speech and his other claims of working in law enforcement, including telling police in Texas in 2000 that he was a "certified police officer." The newspaper said the claims were not true. Walker’s campaign told the Journal-Constitution that Walker was an honorary deputy in Cobb County along with three other Georgia counties that the campaign did not specify. The newspaper said the Cobb County Police Department said it had no record of involvement with Walker and the Cobb Sheriff’s Office could not say whether he was an honorary deputy. In response to the Atlanta newspaper story, a Walker campaign spokesperson said that Walker majored in criminal justice at the University of Georgia and "has supported and worked with law enforcement for years, including speaking to police about mental health, leading women’s self-defense training, participating in the FBI Academy at Quantico."
He’s also lying about this:
More than a week after Herschel Walker was accused of encouraging and paying for an ex-girlfriend’s 2009 abortion, the Georgia Republican on Friday attempted to soften his hardline stance against the procedure. In his first and likely only debate with Democratic Sen. Raphael Warnock, Walker maintained he is still “pro-life” and criticized the incumbent for supporting abortion rights. But he said that he agrees with the state of Georgia’s law that allows exceptions for rape, incest and the mother’s life while prohibiting abortion after six weeks, a position that differs from Walker’s remarks earlier this year. Asked this spring whether he favored a more restrictive abortion law than a six-week ban that passed in Georgia, Walker indicated he did not believe any abortions should be permitted. “There’s no exception in my mind,” Walker told reporters this spring. His campaign at the time did not temper that position, instead doubling down that Walker “is pro-life and will not apologize.” At the Friday night debate in Savannah, Walker said that despite being a Christian, he knows he is “also representing the people of Georgia” and is “going to stand with them.” “I say I support the Georgia heartbeat bill, because that’s the bill of the people from Gov. (Brian) Kemp,” Walker said.
I shudder to think what other cringe worthy moments from Walker’s performance in this debate we will be seeing soon. But here are a few highlights from Warnock’s performance during the debate:

Here are a few more things to know about Walker. First, he’s a dead beat dad:
Second, he’s lying about his heritage:
