The student debt relief application confirmation form

Just a quick update: the debt relief application is live, and in beta testing.

You can click on this link, or if you prefer to enter the URL itself, it’s:

https: // studentaid.gov / debt-relief / application [minus the spaces, of course]

I can tell you that the application is quick and easy; it took me about two minutes to fill out. Other than basic information like address and phone number, the only thing you need is your Social Security number.

Again, as a reminder, it’s up to $10K in relief for borrowers with income under $125K in either 2020 or 2021 ($250K for couples filing together), and up to $20K for borrowers who received Pell grants. And, thanks to the American Recovery Plan, any relief granted under this program does not create a tax burden, as past debt relief has.
