Crown Dancers will be on hand at Whiteriver AZ for a major campaign rally as we get closer to election day. White Mountain Apaches vote more than 90% for Democrats.
Early voting started in Arizona on Wednesday with an expectation that 90% of the ballots will be cast before Nov. 8. In almost every case, voters will be deciding between honest people who are very good at governing and extremists who have no interest in running the government and want to worship Trump as a king.
Kari Lake, a former news anchor, has been acclaimed as Trump’s “most talented emulator.” Her favorite speaking point is to say she has resisted the advice of campaign consultants to move away from Trump. She faces Secretary of State Katy Hobbs in the race for governor.
Eli Crane, a candidate for Arizona’s most contested congressional seat, went full “defund the police” after the raid on Trump’s home at Mar-A-Lago. He has softened slightly from his initial stand against aid to Ukraine. He is running against incumbent Democrat Tom O’Halleran in perhaps the nation’s closest congressional race.
Blake Masters, running for Senate, has tried to tiptoe away from hardline positions on abortion. He has not been rewarded and trails incumbent Sen. Mark Kelly. It says something about the laziness of Masters’s staff, or perhaps stubbornness, that they haven’t scrubbed the endorsement from discredited Congressman Madison Cawthorn from their website. Masters, a gopher for an out-of-state billionaire, of course thinks he knows everything. Kelly has taken him down when Masters has claimed to know what is best for the reproductive health of women.
Mark Finchem, running for Secretary of State, is all big lie all the time. He wants to outlaw early voting and reinstate Trump’s “victory” in the 2020 election. He is running against Adrian Fontes, a Marine and former Maricopa County recorder.
We have a lot of work to do, and would appreciate your support. You can give here at ActBlue
We just finished our radio buy on KTNN, the Navajo Nation radio station, for voter registration. We now have to fund our spots to encourage voters to request early ballots and then to encourage them to turn in early ballots. This will cost us about $4,000.
We just finished an $8,000 program of placing signs on Arizona reservations supporting family voting. We have received a lot of nice compliments about the signs. A five-day trip through Arizona pounding fence posts proved to be an excellent opportunity for this 71-year-old geezer to serve.
We are planning a campaign rally in Whiteriver on the White Mountain Apache Reservation. We are hoping to serve food, and have a band to warm up the crowd for the main speaker. We are asking for buses to run people from other reservation communities to Whiteriver. We’re not yet allowed to announce the name of our special guest, or publish the time and date of the event, but we are doing everything we can to make it count. White Mountain Apaches vote more than 90% Democratic, so we want to make this a very big deal.
At a private event in nearby Show Low, there was a larger-than-life portrait of Trump wearing an ermine robe and a crown. It is not hyperbole to say that these people want to end Democracy. There may be several reasons they have taken up the cult of such a flawed individual, but I think mostly they see it as a chance to preserve white supremacy.
We will air our next radio show on Navajo Radio a week from today, featuring O’Halleran and Fontes, along with detail on how to get early ballots and turn them in.
