High Cost of Gas May Be the Price of Democracy [1]

To paraphrase a comedian or pundit somewhere, “I don’t know this for sure, but I’m sure it’s true”: The Trump Syndicate has conspired with the Saudis and Putin to cut oil supplies in order to force gasoline prices higher right before the mid-term elections! The timing is so perfect that even a dunderhead like Trump could figure it out, and there’s no downside for his allies.
I’m no fan of high gas prices, inflation or a pending recession, but when our democracy is on the line, I’ll damn well deal with the added cost. I’m betting that most Democrats, Independents and Rational Republicans will, too!
Government “run” by the GOP — Grand Obstructionist Party — will be disastrous to our rights, personal freedoms and our pocketbooks! Lindsay Grahamcracker is proposing a national abortion ban. Rick “Voldemort” Scott wants to sunset out Social Security and Medicare in five years! And there’s already a Republican bill being crafted to eliminate all the Big Pharma legislation just enacted! That’s right! Stop Medicare from negotiating prescription prices and take the caps off out-of-pocket costs and insulin. Brilliant! They really think we’re as dimwitted as their MAQANON minions.
Trump has been trying to destroy our government for FOREVER! He hoped that putting in cronies, lackeys, brown-noses and sycophants in every position in government during his term would mean he could do as he pleased and there would be NO ONE to hold him accountable. He almost got away with it! Thankfully on 1/6 there were still a few people in his administration that had some spine left. That is no longer the case.
If Big Lie candidates weasel their way into the government they despise and if the Scream Court allows state legislatures to toss out election results in favor of the candidate they prefer, Trump might be released from his prison cell — again, I’m sure it will be true — to roam the White House again.
The country CANNOT afford that to happen!
