Ian Bremmer: Elon Musk is blocking Starlink in southern Ukraine [1]

Thinks he's the savior but really just scared of Putin.

Despicable: Elon Musk personally rejected a Ukrainian request to extend his satellite internet service to Crimea, fearing that an effort to retake the peninsula from Russian forces could lead to a nuclear war, the influential political analyst Ian Bremmer said in a newsletter published on Monday. ... Bremmer said Musk told him he'd been asked by Ukraine's defense ministry to activate Starlink in Crimea, which Russia invaded and illegally annexed in 2014. Bremmer said Musk "refused given the potential for escalation." … Bremmer, the founder and president of the political-risk research firm Eurasia Group, said on Monday that in a conversation with Musk in late September, Musk appeared to confirm that the satellite service was being intentionally disabled.

Ian Bremmer is clearly saying Musk is sabotaging Ukraine in southern Ukraine.

No comment from SpaceX or Musk on these latest claims about Musk inserting himself into Ukraine war on Russia’s behalf right after spouting Russian ridiculous talking points about Ukrainian land for peace.

Maybe Elon Musk decided to block Starlink in southern Ukraine because he’s scared. How else to explain him going to bat for a dictator. We’ve seen him trending full MAGA because he’s still mad that the Biden SEC actually enforces laws. Or maybe he found out MAGA loves Russian invasions, and decided to sabotage Ukraine’s counter-offensive to further appeal to MAGA.

The Ukrainian counter-offensive now appears somewhat stalled. Because of Musk.

There was some criticism that I pointed out the timing of these acute outages but it appears that Musk was in fact sabotaging Ukraine. I hope the US government can replace the comms the Ukrainians desperately need and maybe investigate Musk for sabotaging Ukraine.
