Farewell to Summer. [1]

Three days ago I got my flu shot and my Covid booster at the same time. A strategy which likely works well for most people. But probably not something I will do again. And the story I had been working on got sidelined due to me sleeping constantly, and when I was awake I felt like I'd gotten caught in the middle of someone else's bar fight the day before.
But I didn't want to blow it off entirely. I've gotten used to doing my Tuesday thing, and I enjoy it. So...this week I want to share with you my favorite photos from the summer just past. The very best ones were taken by my kids. Those two are awesome with a cellphone.
We had a blessedly active monsoon season this year.
My daughter took this spectacular sunset photo.
The ducklings are even bigger than that now. Seriously... except for Lasagna, they're huge.
The chicks I got at Tractor Supply- two Easter eggers, two cuckoo marans- are nearly full grown now.
Every single morning they're there to greet me. Or maybe just breakfast?
All that rain encouraged the wildflowers to bloom.
A morning glory vine volunteered to show up, and spread amazingly.
We've been seeing a lot of stickbugs recently.
As well as mantises like this one.
And this tiny one. I'd never seen a mantis that small.
The sunsets here are still the most beautiful I've ever seen.
And now I think I will do like this guy. And take a nap.
