Clint Eastwood is among other superstar celebrities like Arnold Schwarzenegger, Tom Brady and Christie Brinkley who have adopted plant-based or vegan diets.
He has said “The plant-based diet should affect positive changes for the well-being of animals and people.” He is promoting that we are eating our way to planetary disaster because:
Raising animals for eating produces as much heat-trapping gases as all the vehicles used for transportation worldwide.
Eating animals promotes deforestation for more animal grazing and growing foods to feed them in factory farms. Less forests means less absorption of heat trapping carbon dioxide. Burning forests for these releases carbon dioxide.
The obscene treatment of the animals in factory farms is beyond immoral.
Clint stars in a documentary: “Why on Earth”. It features anti-poaching groups in Africa; anti-deforestation groups; and groups seeking to expose and stop the obscene cruelties to animals in factory farms.
Hopefully, as more celebrities point to the merits of plant-based diets and to the destructiveness of animal eating there will be an awakening. We need to change eating habits to save ourselves and the Earth.
