On the heels of “White Lives Matter,” Kanye West blatantly tweeted not just an anti-Semitic slur, but a death threat. And yet, our leading media can’t bring themselves to plainly call it anti-Semitic. Instead, it’s “widely perceived” as anti-Semitic. See tweet below and google search above.

The WSJ changed its headline, and the Times at least changed the lede to this: “The rapper, who now goes by Ye, made antisemitic remarks on Instagram and Twitter that were widely criticized.” (Why not, “almost universally condemned?”) But later the article, includes this:
The T-shirt design and the social media posts were widely condemned by celebrities and Jewish groups, who said they echoed racist and antisemitic ideas. *** On Friday, Ye posted screenshots from a text message exchange with Mr. Combs to his Instagram account, where he suggested that Mr. Combs was being controlled by Jewish people. The comments were called antisemitic by several Jewish groups.
Why do you need the celebrities and Jewish groups to “say” or “call it” anti-Semitism?”
It’s now Year 7 of normalizing Trump through cowardice by failing to call things lies or fascism.
And it’s still not self-evident that Kanye’s vile, inciting, violent tweet is anti-Semitic. Period.
