Katie Hobbs, Next Governor of Arizona

The news in Arizona Sunday was that the enormous orange piece of human feces was coming to town, but THERE ARE REPUBLICANS FOR KATIE!

Katie Hobbs, Arizona Democratic Governor Candidate, held a rally of REPUBLICANS at Barry Goldwater Memorial Park in Paradise Valley on Sunday afternoon. Hobbs has the support of many sensible Republicans, and would probably have the support of Barry.

The most prominent Republican supporting Hobbs is Liz Cheney who didn't make the event, but spoke earlier at ASU:

“I don’t know that I have ever voted for a Democrat, but if I lived in Arizona now, I absolutely would” “We cannot give people power who have told us that they will not honor elections,” Republican U.S. Rep. Liz Cheney said this week at Arizona State University. “I don’t know that I have ever voted for a Democrat, but if I lived in Arizona now, I absolutely would … for governor and for secretary of state.” Cheney for Arizona Democrats

Arizona has a history of Republicans that just plain had enough and threw their support to Democrats. Most prominent was in 2020, Cindy McCain, wife of deceased John McCain, threw her support to Biden, campaigned for him, and spoke at the Democratic convention. Biden won Arizona by just over 10,000 votes. Cindy helped.

First speaker at the Republicans for Hobbs event was mayor of very conservative Mesa, John Giles:

It’s not a choice between Republicans and Democrats, it’s a choice between sanity and chaos.” ​​​​​“We have some very significant problems facing our state right now. Water, housing, supporting public education, finding solutions to our transportation infrastructure problems. Katie Hobbs is the right person to lead us to address these challenges.”

He went on to blast the election denying and delusional claims of Hobbs' opponent Kari Lake.

Karie Dozer, the communications director for the decreased former Republican AG, Grant Woods, who broke ranks in 2016 and 2020 supporting Clinton and Biden:

Karie Dozer delivered a call to action about speaking to friends and family about the stakes of the upcoming election, warning that Arizona’s future is on the line. Monica Villalobos, President and CEO of the Arizona Hispanic Chamber of Commerce added:

“Secretary Hobbs, you and I do not, and will not, agree on everything, but we both believe that Arizona is better than a sound bite. We deserve leaders committed to spirited but respectful conversations. And I have no doubt we’ll have many.”

Katie Hobbs stated the obvious when you have Republicans coming out of the woodwork to support a democrat:

“I bet many of you never thought you would be up here campaigning with a Democrat to be our next governor, but the support we’ve seen from Republicans, Independents, people who have never been involved in politics before, is a testament to the threat that Kari Lake poses should she be our next Governor. And we’re not going to let that happen.”

Per the Democratic Governors Association even former governor Brewer has problems with Lake:

Lake has struggled to unite the Arizona GOP, with former Arizona GOP Gov. Jan Brewer saying she and Lake still haven’t met: “[Lake] sort of indicated she didn’t really want to talk to me or sit down and discuss some of the issues.” Earlier this week, Brewer said some of Lake’s claims in this election made her “speechless” while reiterating that she hadn’t yet sat down with Lake but had lunch with Hobbs.

Democrats, Independents, and Republicans agree that Lake, Finchem, Hanadeh, and Masters would be a threat to Arizona and the country. We can stop this.
