The MAGA Republican Party

I want to believe that all American's understand the implications of the upcoming mid-term elections. I know that the people on the "red team" want all their candidates to win the election, but I am not sure that all of them "fully understand" what it will mean for America if they do. That is; the implications beyond just winning. Should they choose not to accept the results, be it through violence or even if they legitimately win control of one or both houses of congress; the MAGA Republicans are clearly prepared to end our democracy. That will result in the "red team" having all the power and the "blue team" none. So what exactly does that mean for "Joe average citizen"? For you? It seems really very simple, but I suppose it is not so obvious. If in the mid-term election you select a candidate on the right (a Republican), you need to understand that you are making a choice to live in an authoritarian autocracy (under a dictator). While that candidate may not tell you that is where he will take us, it is clear that is where the Party wants to go if and when they obtain the majority in power. Most in the Republican Party are telling us they will insure Donald Trump will win in 2024 with the inference that they will cheat if necessary. Some are saying they want civil war. So if you are a MAGA Republican that means that you are willing to give-up our democracy and our freedom so that you can have everything "your way". Well, you should be aware that we may never be able to restore our democracy once it is gone. I certainly understand that you want this, because you believe that your candidates will represent your values and ideals. You believe that they will take care of you. However, you need to understand that there are bigger implications. How many times have we seen politicians on both the right and the left promise something to get elected, but then never follow-through on those promises? There are different reasons that this happens, many of which are often not their fault. So the question becomes; how do you know for sure that they will deliver what they promise? Frankly, if you put the "Red Team" in power, it will not matter what they do. Do you understand why it won't matter? It won't matter, because first and foremost, their election win will result in the loss of your freedom. Since elections will no longer matter, the Constitution no longer matters. So the "Red Team" is no longer really a team to the extent that they will do what the people want. No, there will no longer be any teams. The government will consist of a dictator and others that have titles, but no power. All the power will rest with the dictator. That is how authoritarian autocracies operate. So your elected officials can do only what the dictator allows and/or demands (not necessarily what you were promised or what you want). And here is the sad part: there will be absolutely nothing you can do about it. Since elections no longer matter, you will not be able to vote them out. Like in all autocracies, they may hold sham elections in which you will likely be able to vote, but the winners are determined before the voting even takes place. That is the method that the "Red Team" had already chosen for running elections. As an example: that is how elections work in Russia and most autocracies. The only way a candidate can lose is if he is cheated. That is the claim that Donald Trump has brought to our election process. So the dictator will insure that in the future "his" candidates (not necessarily yours) are not cheated. The dictator's candidates (not necessarily yours) will not/cannot lose.

Our democracy can only be assured by the majority of representatives we put into office. The Republican Party as a whole has already demonstrated that they no longer support our democratic form of government. They have openly conveyed that they no longer believe-in the very foundational basis of democracy; free and fair elections. It is clearly their assertion that elections are only legitimate when they win. Therefore, it is their assertion that elections no longer matter. So even if your Republican candidate promises to deliver everything you want, you really must ask yourself; is it worth losing my freedom? Even if he is a "good guy", with a sufficient number of Republican's in power comprising majority control, they are assuring that respect for free and fair elections will be gone and thus, so is democracy. That means that our Constitution no longer matters and the Republican Party will replace it with the power to dictate what, if any rights we will have. Essentially, our rights in the future will be determined by a dictator that is pre-selected to succeed the current dictator. That person will not be selected by the people, but there will likely be an election in which he will not lose. That election will be held in an effort to provide the perception of legitimacy of this new dictator.

With regard to making a choice in the upcoming elections, it is very important to consider the methods and motives of non-voters that are supporting MAGA Republicans. Those are foreign governments that have much to gain if MAGA Republicans can take power. They are not democracies that hold free and fair elections. No, they are brutal authoritarian autocracies. Russia and Saudi Arabia are two prime examples (there are more). Both of those governments have much to gain if their friend Donald J Trump is elected again. Currently and in the recent past, the Democratic Party has managed those relationships and asserted some control over both of those governments. The net result was that they seldom had their way unless the U.S. benefited in some way. That changed with the Trump administration. While some congressional restraint remained under Trump (that he could not affect), the Trump family personally benefited by their cozy relationships. As was obvious, Donald Trump clearly favored his relationships with the most brutal authoritarian dictators over free democratic leaders. It seems that is where the most lucrative personal benefits could be achieved. There is zero evidence that our country as a whole ever benefited in any way from those relationships. Quite the contrary.

So here are the most important questions for all "MAGA Republican" voters to answer:

Is voting for Red Team candidates worth losing the ability to choose your future leader(s)? Is it worth losing the "rule of law" that protects you personally and a justice system that provides your rights and insures fairness? Is it worth losing the assurances that corruption is not tolerated (in a democracy)? As we've seen in other dictatorships like Russia, the police and the politicians run rampant with corruption. Tax dollars are stolen by corrupt government officials resulting in a deteriorating military and infrastructure while politicians and oligarchs build wealth. Pride in the country and patriotism deteriorates, because the people no longer have a say in how the government operates. Local police and politicians are on the take and it goes unreported primarily due to potential for backlash on you and your family. Respect and admiration for America across the globe is destroyed. These are, but just a few of the things that will result from putting your Republican Candidate in office, because this is where they want to take us. Think about it..............
