The Department of Justice engages in Trump’s delay game as the former president tries to head off an indictment for stealing government documents. How many bullets from the Special Delay Edition of his six-shooter has Trump used so far?

He negotiated in lousy faith with DOJ for months about returning documents he stole.

Delay showed its face again when Trump got Federal Judge Cannon to take the case away from the jurisdiction of Magistrate Reinhart.

Trump’s asking for a Special Master from Cannon delayed matters again.

Cannon’s hijinks with the Special Master caused another delay as the DOJ had to file for redress from the 11th Appellate Court.

Now there is back and forth, forth and back in the Appellate Court between Trump and the DOJ.

And finally, Trump used his Delay six-shooter to take matters to the Supreme Court, causing further delay.

Trump’s endless delay in civil litigation gives new meaning to in perpetuity, which is okay with the Master of Delay, Donald J. Trump. Trump’s civil court shenanigans would end tomorrow if the DOJ indicted him in Federal District Court in Washington, D.C. Wasn’t he, after all, caught red-handed with sensitive, top-secret government documents in his desk drawer? Slam and dunk. What more do the DOJ prosecutors need? Stop playing his delay game; stop negotiating with him. Indict him!
