Sing along!

Number one, not even in English!

That is a good example, of my whole reason to do this series of diaries, to re-discover classic melodies, that I had forgotten, but make me feel at home, when I hear them, again.

Now, this one, is a smooth, mellow, classic:

2:

Yes, solid memories.

3:

Well, that was, essentially, the same as another Elvis hit, Don’t Be Cruel. But this one has less punch. Oh well.

4:

Nothing but pure, silly, fun. But, fun, can be a lot of fun. Right?

5:

To my ears, that’s truly easy listening, jazzy pop music. Call it Mambo, call it macaroni, put it in your ear, and relax! Right?

6:

Once again, easy listening, relax, and enjoy. The hard edge of the saxophone made me turn my volume down, then I liked it.

7:

For some reason, two songs are included as one hit. They used to do that, back then. I didn’t like the second one, as much as the first. Suit yourself.

8:

Once again, smooth, easy to listen to, but with a little jump. And, easy to learn the lyrics! Right?

9:

Tommy Edwards, may not be a household name, like Elvis or Chuck Berry, but there is certainly nothing wrong, at all, with that voice, in my opinion.

10:

I truly like the voice of Dean Martin. Some might feel his style was corny, maybe? But, I truly like it.

This one only made it to number 18:

This one is a little better than any of those in the top ten, seems to me. And, once again, this is one of those songs that, once I hear it, I truly feel it is in my short list of my favorite songs, but, unless I go through the hits, year by year, I will simply never hear them again, to enrich my life. Makes me glad I am working on this little project.

This one made it to number 21:

“And when you finish doin’ that, bring in the dog and put out the cat.”

Damn. I cannot get enough of this one! Too much fun. Next time I am doing chores, such as washing my dishes, I should play this song. Music makes the chores go faster, right?

Number 26:

Nice little guitar solo, at 1:55.

Number 29:

Many bands have a road song, a song about life on the road. They perform the song, when they are on tour, since that makes it a song about the moment, singing about traveling, while doing a show, during one stop on a tour. Ricky Nelson had one, called, Traveling Man. Willie Nelson has, On The Road Again. When the Beach Boys wrote their road song, Surfin’ USA, they used this melody, from Chuck Berry, Sweet Little Sixteen (Chuck Berry’s road song). I suppose they did it subconsciously, but a judge ruled that all the royalties from the Beach boys song, had to be given to Chuck Berry.

Number 31:

Nat King Cole had, truly, one of the best voices in pop music. Truly smooth.

Number 36:

Basic rockabilly. Seems to me.

Number 37:

Silly fun. Why not?

Number 38:

More silly fun, a song about dancing nude, at a party. Why not?

Just a song. No actual nudity. Just teasing lyrics. So.

Well, tell me how silly I am, or how silly they were.

Hugs, as I always say.

Hugs.
