A day after the spectacular explosion that partially collapsed the Kerch Bridge there is still no definitive explanation for how it was brought down.
There are plausible reasons why it might have been a truck bomb or a boat loaded with explosives beneath the bridge.
And while one span is out for many months to come, cars have resumed traveling across the other span in police-escorted small convoys.

Explanations abound for what caused the explosion, but there is evidence that it might have been a truck bomb. Also, the guard rails being blown outward points to a truck explosion.
The Washington Post has an article that cites a source saying the bridge attack was an operation of Ukrainian special forces.

Here’s the truck that was crossing the bridge when it exploded. It was inspected on the Russian side. So either the bomb was hidden well or the inspectors were bought off or this driver is just the unluckiest dude in Russia.

The rail bridge may or may not be usable. It’s hard to believe anyone would try to use it after the heat from that fire, but this is Russia, so who knows. The undamaged rail cars have already been removed.
x Russian repair crews have sent the first test train across the damaged section of the Crimean Bridge. A dozen passenger trains are scheduled to follow tonight, Transport Ministry officials say. Meanwhile, gas lines have formed in Crimea as residents there assume gas will be hard to come by soon.

UPDATE: The NY Times claims it was a truck bomb. I say the verdict is still not in yet either way.
x A senior Ukrainian official told @nytimes that the SBU orchestrated the attack and that it involved a bomb loaded onto a truck. They didn’t specify whether the driver, who appeared to have been died, was aware there were explosives inside.
