David Waldman sure has got that glow this morning... but that’s not a spray atonement, that’s the real deal, ready for a whole new year.

Greg Dworkin takes us for a ride on the midterm pollercoaster, to remind us that polls aren’t good at predicting the winners of elections. What they’re good for is, uhm, teaching us not to trust polls, or at least bet-hedging pollsters. That’s because people who vote are strange, and unique, and partisan.

That said, Herschel Walker’s polling is not looking great at the moment, so all of his friends in the Georgia Gop aren’t his friends anymore.

Australia’s polls have their problems also, even when everyone is a likely voter. In the UK, new PM Liz Truss has hit the ground running… well, actually it was more of a “cannonball”. In Ukraine, they don’t need polls to understand Russian standing. They just want fewer Russians standing.

Back in Florida, they know not to F with Dark Biden. Schools close indefinitely, which is good news for Ron DeSantis? DeSantis reached deep into his victimhood pocket and came up with “regime”, the favorite word for Republican snowflakes hoping to foment a little intimidation. Unfortunately, the folks they’re riling up have been dropping their laser sights onto the back of their neighbor’s heads for years now, and this is just the talk to make them snap.
