Working as a Poll Watcher: I am going to be traveling from Northern California to either Georgia or North Carolina later this month to work as a poll watcher for the Democratic party. This will be my 8th time doing so — Cincinnati 2004, 2008, 2012; Las Vegas 2010 (Harry Reid’s last race), 2016, 2018 (Senate race) and 2020. I should know later this week where I am going. Early voting in Georgia starts 10/17 so I would fly in on the 15th (need one day to go to Costco to get junk food for the poll workers) and early voting in North Carolina starts 10/20 so I would fly in on the 18th. In both cases I anticipate staying through 11/10. If anyone wants to help with expenses I would greatly appreciate it. I anticipate my round trip flight will be approximately $5-600, airbnb approximately $2000 and a car rental of approximately $2,200 — a little under $5,000 total.
If you wish to contribute, my address is 115 15th Avenue, Apt. A, San Mateo, California 94402.
Thanks in advance,
Howard Appel
