This assclown really takes the cake. To the point where voting for him really, truly amounts to tacit admission that you’re as cynical and stupid as he is.
As helpfully revealed by David Badash on Alternet:
Appearing on Fox News Wednesday, Walker told host Brian Kilmeade, “If we vote for the people on the left, like the guy I’m running against,” Democratic U.S. Senator Raphael Warnock, “you’re not going to have a chance to be redeemed. He’s a minister and he don’t believe in redemption.”
Walker, whose unclaimed children and fantastical lies about his past now surface at fairly regular intervals, was defending himself from this week’s latest allegations that the staunch “pro-life” zealot previously paid for an ex-girlfriend’s abortion (and then sent her a “get-well” card), to a friendly audience of — I guess --like-minded supporters on Fox News, when he made this pronouncement.
Still, it’s hard not to hear someone cringing in the background.:
“I told you when I got into this race, I’m gonna win this seat,” Walker continued, as he played the religion card. “People see someone seated here in front of you right now that have been redeemed. And I want America to know, I’m living proof that you can make mistakes and get up and keep going forward. But you can only do it in this country right here. But you can only do it, if we get this election correct this coming November.”
In truth, he should have stopped with “I’m living proof that you can make mistakes.” Because that’s all he’s “living proof” of. ”Redemption,” in Christian theology means acknowledging, confession and learning from your mistakes to attain salvation, something Walker seems wholly incapable of doing.
Seriously, are Georgia Republicans really this brain-dead and cynical? This is the guy who would be voting on budget resolutions to keep things like Social Security and Medicare available to you. Who would keep the entire U.S. economy functioning. Real things that actually matter. Complicated things that actually require a degree of awareness.
There’s no dispute that people can “make mistakes.” The issue becomes when those same people keep on making them, over and over again, throughout their lives, until those mistakes become a pattern of sheer, utter disregard. To the point where they feel compelled to lie about them, because they don’t want to face the reality about themselves.
No one in their right mind would look to such a person as an inspiration for “redemption.” Just the opposite, in fact. Any decent, thinking human being would shun him and quickly look elsewhere.
What a loser.
But Donald Trump sure can pick ‘em.
