The media was caught up in Trump’s filing yesterday so much so that they missed its true purpose. By the end of the day, the pundits were all over the its a highly technical motion that will have limited impact on the case. They were arguing that in effect, all it will do is allow the special master to review the classified documents and allow Trump’s counsel access to them. The impact would be very little to none.
No, no, no, no ….
The point of this is to get the Supreme Court to rule in Trump’s favor on a meaningless issue so that Trump can then go out with his megaphone amplified by the media and claim that the Supreme Court has reversed the 11th Circuit and he has won. In true Trump fashion he will scream that this proves the raid by Biden’s DOJ was illegal. The ruling will say absolutely none of this and in fact, it may result in the entire dismissal of Trump’s action since the Supreme Court could review the jurisdiction of entire matter and toss it back at the 11th Cir and District Court.
However, from a Trump PR standpoint any ruling in his favor before the Supreme Court will be declared total victory and proof of his total exoneration and the absolute corruption of Biden’s DOJ and FBI.
