One of the tightest Senate races in the U.S. is in Nevada, where the OUTSTANDING Catherine Cortez Masto is being challenged by MAGA scumbag Adam Laxalt. The polls are razor thin close, and the election could go either way. Nevada isn’t getting the attention it deserves, IMO. I intend to change that. Previously, I have gone after snake oil peddler/puppy torturer Mehmet Oz and vile idiot-hypocrite Herschel Walker. Now, it’s Adam Laxalt’s turn. He’s as bad as anyone the Republicans are running this year, and that says something.

LAXALT: TRUMP-WORSHIPING MAGA LUNATIC

From NBC News:

[Last June] On Wednesday, Trump himself held a call with Laxalt supporters, urging them to back his onetime Nevada presidential campaign co-chair. “We can’t take any chances. So get out and vote. A vote for any other candidate in the primary is really a vote that’s hurting your state very badly and your country very badly because it’s not going to register. It’s not going to help,” Trump said on the call. Laxalt thanked Trump on the call, referring to him as “the president of the United States.” [My emphasis.]

After President Biden’s roasting of MAGA in September:

Trump courtiers like Laxalt are clutching their pearls and reaching for the vapors, crying that a president is, as Laxalt put it, “working to divide” the nation. Which is obviously something Trump would never do. Laxalt and multiple other Trump loyalists, sycophants, and just plain fanboys also condemned Biden for “attacking half of America.” The Washington Post took a swing at trying to find out just how much of the country qualifies as “MAGA Republicans,” the way Biden delineated the term. Half the country, as Laxalt and other Republicans have repeatedly said, is a little high. It’s more like a tenth.

LAXALT: FRAUDSTER AND CROOK

Financial scandals:

During his time in office, Laxalt faced allegations of pressuring officials, using his position as attorney general to fend off investigators, and accepting illegal campaign contributions from Lev Parnas—who was tried and ultimately convicted in October 2021 of federal campaign finance crimes. On June 29, Parnas was sentenced to 20 months in prison… In 2018, the Reno Gazette-Journal reported that then-Attorney General Laxalt allegedly kept fraud investigators at bay from some of his largest financial backers in relation to a large investigation into ExxonMobil and the effects of climate change… One year earlier, the Las Vegas Sun reported that Laxalt was being investigated for allegedly coercing a gaming regulator in a recorded conversation related to a lawsuit involving mega donor and casino magnate Sheldon Adelson.

Further evidence:

As Nevada attorney general, Laxalt was famously caught up in a pay-to-play scheme, complete with secret audio tapes in which he was heard pressuring the chair of the Nevada Gaming Control Board over a private lawsuit — all for the benefit of one of the world’s richest men and Laxalt’s biggest campaign contributor, the late Sheldon Adelson. Earlier in his tenure, he tried to use his office to stop investigators from looking into Koch Brothers-backed organizations, who then rewarded him with millions in campaign help. Then, amid his failed run for governor in 2018, Laxalt was part of a campaign finance scandal involving illegal foreign contributions from the memorable Igor Fruman and Lev Parnas, at whose federal trial Laxalt recently spent a few uncomfortable days on the witness stand. Despite these recurring issues (or perhaps, who knows, because of them), Laxalt found a highly lucrative position with the Washington, D.C. law firm Cooper & Kirk. That longtime conservative firm incubated the political careers of Ted Cruz and Tom Cotton in years past, and now Laxalt’s personal financial disclosure shows he has made $2.2 million there just in the past two years. Not bad for a mid-career attorney whose legal abilities drew comparison to a locomotive disaster from his employers here in Nevada.

LAXALT: PHONY NEVADAN

In 2018, members of Laxalt’s OWN FAMILY urged that he not be elected governor.

A DOZEN RELATIVES of Nevada’s current attorney general and Republican candidate for governor, Adam Laxalt, penned an op-ed in the Reno Gazette Journal this week explaining why they think Laxalt should not be governor. Laxalt’s family, including an aunt and cousins, addressed their reasons for the writing the op-ed, saying they “feel compelled to protect our family name from being leveraged and exploited.” They wrote about their family’s rich history in Nevada and how Laxalt has “falsely” claimed he was raised in the state, pointing out that although Laxalt was born in Reno, he was raised out of state. “Adam never knew the state or its people,” the family wrote. They went on to suggest his motives for moving back to the state were purely political: “He left as an infant and was raised on the East Coast, 3,000 miles away, in Washington, D.C., and moved here only in 2013, only one year later launching his political career.”

LAXALT: ENEMY OF WOMEN’S RIGHTS

Laxalt calls 1973 Roe v. Wade decision ‘a joke,’ bemoans Nevada’s abortion protections

Earlier this month [June 2022], Republican U.S. Senate candidate and former Attorney General Adam Laxalt called the 1973 Roe v. Wade decision “a joke” and said it’s “sad” that Nevada is not anti-abortion. Laxalt made the comments during a June 6 pancake breakfast with pastors and faith leaders in Reno, and audio from that event was obtained by The Nevada Independent. It marks some of the bluntest language used by Laxalt on the subject of abortion this election cycle. “Roe v. Wade was always a joke. It was a total, complete invention,” Laxalt said. “It has created decades and decades of political turmoil. Not to mention, the most important thing that it allowed across the country. So, I think its return back to the states is important.”

Laxalt has said his opponent supports infanticide (!)

Republican candidate for U.S. Senate Adam Laxalt published an opinion piece in this newspaper filled with disinformation and inflammatory statements intended to mislead the public. Laxalt falsely claimed that Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto voted to allow "infanticide," which is, of course, already illegal. Laxalt chose this term, used by anti-choice activists and politicians, to falsely describe abortion later in pregnancy or post-birth palliative care. His statements were written to cause alarm, are medically inaccurate and quite simply untrue… The term "infanticide" is intended to evoke disturbing and violent imagery, is not a medical or clinical term, and is a cruel assault upon American families who find themselves in these difficult circumstances. The majority of Americans believe abortion should be safe and legal. The people of Nevada, as Laxalt points out, support this right. Laxalt’s apparent attempt to misinform the public with inflammatory language (and blatant medical misinformation) demonstrates that he does not deserve your vote.
