This is too important to let your fear of data cause you to ignore.
This simple little graph shows that from 1979 through 1987 our politically based differences in dying was slowly declining. It leveled off from 1986 through 1988. Then state politics started showing that living in states that did not vote for Democrats resulted in higher, much higher, middle aged white death rates. The last last dot shows the effect of the first year of COVID deaths and the two dots before that shows unexplained declines in our death rate that followed new reports that our total death rate was increasing.
If anybody wants to see any state comparisons, just let me know. I will be out for the next week and I will respond to questions and comments as well as provide any desired additional data I can after I get back.
If this kind of data interests you go to wonder.cdc.gov and on the fourth link down on the left click “Underlying Cause of Death”. If you play with this data site for a couple of hours you will be able to learn a lot about how we are dying.
