Laughter through tears is my favorite emotion!
I’m prone to doom-scrolling in the very early morning. I love it when I land on something that is so funny I have to stop myself from laughing so I don’t wake up my SO, who seems to need a wee bit more sleep than I. Hasn’t happened much lately — but twice today. I literally had to stop this Seth Meyer outtake. I just finished watching it — OMG. I love it.
If the figure in my title is correct — that we get back 45 minutes of life for every minute we spend laughing — I just got back about 6 hours! (I read that somewhere many years ago.)

Then, there was this priceless nugget on a semi-local news station this morning about the GOP candidate for governor in Colorado — who has voiced concerns about public schools not taking a harder line against students who identify as cats. Yes. She’s concerned about gangs of “furries” taking over schools.
krdo.com/...In an appearance on conservative talk radio on Sept. 24, Republican candidate for Colorado Governor, Heidi Ganahl, said she moved her kids out of one Colorado school district and into another four years ago to escape 'furries' in their schools. Ganahl told KNUS host Jimmy Sengenberger, "Have you heard about this story? Kids identifying as cats. It sounds absolutely ridiculous, but it’s happening all over Colorado and schools are tolerating it."
Surely it’s okay to laugh at these idiots once in awhile. I know they’re dangerous. But they are idiots, nevertheless. Anyone else have any other ridiculously funny/stupid antidotes about how absolutely stupid the GOP is? I’d like to add a few more hours to my life and it’s a good respite before we get back to GOTV!
