He wants Beto O’Rourke disqualified for a name change. Why not Abbott for allowing Texans’ deaths? [1]

A Politics Done Right caller said Beto O’Rourke, the Democratic Candidate for Texas Governor, should be disqualified for his ‘name change.’ What about a governor who causes the deaths of Texans?

Texas Governor Greg Abbott and former Congressman Beto O’Rourke debated recently. O’Rourke is attempting to unseat Abbott.

KPFT 90.1 FM Houston covered the debate with a pre-debate call-in. Then, a caller got to be with his attempted justification for not supporting Beto O’Rourke. The caller preceded his comment with an extended summary of his life which one would find interesting but had no relation to the choosing of a governor.

The caller said that O’Rourke disqualified himself by changing his name to Beto for political reasons. The truth is, one should care little about a name one chooses for themselves. But to disqualify a candidate for a name seemed a bit petty especially given the sins of the current Texas governor, Abbott.

So I challenged the caller. I told him I cared less about Beto’s name change intent and more about the actions of Governor Abbott. His actions were fatal.

Governor Abbott and his Republican Legislature refused to accept the Medicaid Expansion to the Affordable Care act. His actions killed thousands of Texans because, as the state with the largest number of uninsured, thousands of Texans died of the lack of insurance that Texans had already paid for year after year. States like New York and California are happy to spend Texas dollars on their citizens. It was also fiduciarily irresponsible that the Texas taxpayer paid for a service their governor refused.

The above is just one of the many evil acts perpetrated by Greg Abbott (e.g., Electric Grid Collapse, COVID Pandemic irresponsibility …)

The caller could not possibly have an answer for the statements of facts. One hopes he rethinks the method he uses to vote for candidates. Voting on false or flawed premises can be fatal to Texans, the country, and the world.
