From this notebook forth, I declare this Friday entry of Top Comments to be a “no politics” zone.
Yes, the primary purpose of Daily Kos is to discuss politics in its many different facets. But most Kossacks are interested in so much more than politics.
I don’t know about anyone else, but I get tired of discussing politics, especially nowadays. I discuss plenty of politics in my other regular assignments here at DK.
Granted, for the most part, there are few topics that can be discussed apart from politics, nowadays. For example, I don’t think that one can properly discuss all the aspects of the National Football League’s injury and concussion protocols following the injury and hospitalization of Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa without bumping into politics, at least a little bit.
I would think that American pop superstar Lizzo would be able to play a flute owned by a former President and one of the Founding Fathers without political controversy but...alas.
Even when discussing good-tasting and healthy food— a topic which unifies nearly everyone because who doesn’t like good food?— politics frequently intrudes.
Oh, the politics of brunch!
So...I won’t pretend that I will be able to entirely avoid discussing politics; after all, politics saturates much of our lives and even many of our personal interests outside the realm of electoral politics.
But this will be a zone of arts, games, humor and food for this entry forth.
Granted...it will be difficult sometimes.
Comments below the fold.
