I just read an article in The Bulwark by Charlie Sykes today: “Reliving a Sordid Chapter in American History” It is in reference to Ken Burns’ Documentary “U.S and The Holocaust”. I recommend it. I like The Bulwark and especially Charlie, yes Republicans but not Trumpist. I like to listen to smart and compassionate people from both sides.

Back to my story. I read an article on DK recently about the ignorance of many Americans. I apologize to the author because I cannot find this article again.

I agree, there is a lot of ignorance going on in this country, sustained mainly by the Republican Party. Or maybe they are not that ignorant, but they want the votes of the ignorant.

So, I have seen videos of many people at Trump’s and other Republicans running for office, raising their arms in the Nazy salute. Are they ignorant about what Hitler did? Do they know that he and his minions sent about 6 million human beings to the gas chambers including children, women (maybe some pregnant) and men? Do they know what a gas chamber is?

There could be some who know and still do the Hitler thing. These are evil. But how many are just ignorant and think that Hitler was the Dear Leader they always wanted and now they have it in Trump?

That is why I am glad that Ken Burns made this Documentary, and that Charlie Sykes wrote that article. It also has to do with the shameful position of the USA when Jews needed us.

We cannot stop being woke and loudly condemn the evilness of Nazism. Just maybe some of the ignorant will hear.
