This is not one of those “I have a lot to talk about” diaries. This is exactly what it says it is. It is “It Could Happen Tomorrow” happening today.

x A brief glimpse of what happened today, that first clip has easily some of the strongest winds I have experienced in any hurricane I’ve chased. A mini doc will be made once all the surge probes are collected, the Ft Myers Beach one is going to be insane.

Man does not save cat. Man gets Twitter flamed for it.
x Please don’t post videos that stress everyone out with worry like this and then delete it. Was it just for attention???

This lady’s mom is in this house. No word from her since yesterday afternoon. Hundreds if not thousands of similar predicaments mentioned online.

I will update this as needed, because when the sun rises, we will get a full extent of the damage.
And, update:

For those of you who roll their eyes and think “Floriduh” deserves this, please don’t. Remember my baby brother’s favorite quote. You can follow my efforts on Twitter to help me coordinate information for those in need and support the @GCHS_Florida, (Gulf Coast Humane Society) a no-kill animal shelter in SW Florida, along with whatever emergency help we can send in the way of relief to victims.
x To my fellow progressives engaging in schadenfreude for Hurricane Ian hitting a climate skeptical red state, knock it off. My brother's favorite quote:
"Ohana means family. And family means no one gets left behind or forgotten."

Florida is family. — The Claw News (@PapaLovesKitty) September 29, 2022
And about me: My wife and I took a honeymoon to New Orleans and Gulfport in 2005, a little more than two months before Katrina hit. We met a lot of nice people. When we found out that some died for lack of gas money, it broke my heart in a way that never fully healed. Now, as then, not everyone who stayed had the means to leave. Thanks to technology I have more ability to communicate on behalf of people than then. I am going to use it.
x My DM's are open to victims of Hurricane Ian, many of whom are in especially damaged Estero, Ft Myers and North Port, Florida. I will tweet out your need and try to find resources to help. — The Claw News (@PapaLovesKitty) September 29, 2022
